Pay attention to the temperature and humidity of concrete in summer
In summer,the new pouring concrete of concrete batching plant will appear to accelerate the setting rate and reduce the strength of the concrete due to the high temperature, low humidity and fast drying. So, special care is required when pouring concrete. It is necessary to analyze the reasons for the adverse factors, and then take effective measures to eliminate the disadvantage factors or make it to the minimum level.
Users should take measures to control the concrete temperature from producing concrete, control the additional water by controlling the temperature of concrete, reduce slump loss of speed and reduce plastic shrinkage cracking. The following measures can be taken at this stage:
1) Reduce the amount of cement by using a water reducing agent or replacing cement with fly ash. At the same time, increase the particle size of aggregate if the pouring condition permits.
2) If a long distance transport of concrete is needed, we can control the setting time by using retarder. But should ensure dosage is correct. It is particularly important for underwater concrete engineering.
3) If need a higher slump, we should use the superplasticizer. The high slump produced by some superplasticizer can maintain 2h. Superplasticizer can reduce the friction between the aggregate particles in the mixing process, slow the heat accumulation of transport mixer's mixing tube.
4) spray water into aggregate to promote evaporative cooling, then decline the temperature of concrete.If you use cold water (such as ground water or well water), the cooling effect will be better, especially when the humidity is high.
5) If possible, we should make a plan to avoid to pour concrete at the highest temperature. Under dry conditions, the influence of concrete will be decreased by the wind and temperature in the evening.
